Zero Clearance Metal Fireplace Glass Doors

Zero clearance fireplaces are manufactured metal fireplaces with metal pipe chimney. Unlike masonry fireplaces which are built brick by brick on site. Each fireplace manufacturer makes different size fireplaces and opening sizes. All manufacturer warranty and safety requirements state the the opening must have air spacers when installing glass doors. The air space is either on the top and bottom or on either side. Fireplace glass doors designed for masonry fireplaces cannot be installed on zero clearance fire boxes.

To find the manufacturer of your fireplace look for a metal tag usually located in the upper left corner behind the screen. The metal tag will state the manufacturer and the model number of the fire box.
